Shipping Policy

Welcome to Westside Tarantulas! We value the well-being of our animals above all else. Please read our shipping policy thoroughly to ensure a smooth and safe ordering experience.

Shipping Schedule

Weekly Ship-Out Day: Wednesdays

Expected Delivery: Thursdays (unless delayed by FedEx or other unforeseen circumstances)

We ship packages once a week to minimize transit times and stress on the tarantulas. Orders placed after our weekly cut-off may ship out on the following Wednesday.

Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)

We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee to provide peace of mind for our customers. While we cannot control possible delays or issues encountered during transit, we do the following:

Live Arrival & Health: If your tarantula arrives injured or harmed, please email or message us within 24 hours of delivery. Include clear, timestamped photos of the deceased tarantula and the shipping box/package.

Replacement or Refund: Upon verification, we will offer a replacement tarantula or refund at our discretion.

Liability for Delays

FedEx Service Delays: We are not liable for delays caused by FedEx or external factors. Although we do our best to ensure on-time delivery, packages can occasionally be delayed due to weather, logistics, or other unforeseen events.

Tarantula Safety: If the tarantula is harmed specifically due to such delays, our Live Arrival Guarantee still applies, provided you submit documentation (photos, videos) within 24 hours of the package’s arrival.

Shipping Locations & Cost

FedEx Shipping Center (Default): All orders are sent to your nearest FedEx shipping center for pickup. This approach reduces transit time and risk, protecting the tarantula from extreme temperatures or extended van rides.

Home Delivery (By Request): If you prefer doorstep delivery, contact us via email or message with your special request. Additional shipping fees may apply. Doorstep delivery is higher risk, as your tarantula may be exposed to harsher external conditions during transit and upon arrival.

Customer Responsibilities

1. Pickup Promptly: If shipping to a FedEx center, pick up your package as soon as possible after arrival to reduce stress on the tarantula.

2. Inspect Immediately: Check the condition of your tarantula right away, and document any issues with photos/videos within 24 hours.

3. Clear Communication: If you want doorstep delivery or have special handling requests, notify us before the Wednesday ship-out date.
