The Amazon Sapphire Pink Toe - (Ybyrapora divercipes)
A Living Rainbow!
The Amazon Sapphire Pink-Toe! While this species is technically no longer a TRUE *PinkToe* (Tarantulas in the Avicularia genus) it still belongs to the Sub-Family Avicularrianae… There for you can expect the same personality/care requirements as any other pinktoe! Except this specific species is very sticky! In other words, The Amazon Sapphire will flatten out like a piece of paper when she feels threatened, gripping tightly onto what ever is beneath her! It’s honestly a pretty goofy defense mechanism! Anyways, this species is adorned for their vibrant rainbow coloration! Sporting gem like Blues, Purples, oranges, pinks and greens, This Tarantula is truly one of those must have species! Interestingly, the Y. divercipes undergoes a multitude of different color changes as they mature!! With that being said, this specific female is a Young Sub-Adult that’s 3+ inches in DLS! She’s currently more purple than any of the other the aforementioned colors but with every single molt her colors will continue to change until she reaches 5+ inches in leg-span! At that point, she will undergo her final color change, obtaining these striking lapis lazuli violets and Sapphire blues that will surely wow anyone lucky enough to lay their eyes on her! Now, this girl is currently eating one large cricket a week and is about 1.5 years old! If you have any questions regarding this spectacular specimen, don’t hesitate to ask 😁
