Care & Husbandry Guide

🏠 Enclosure & Substrate

Provide a tall arboreal enclosure with excellent cross-ventilation, vertical cork bark extending toward the upper portion of the enclosure, and additional anchor points for webbing. Keep the substrate lightly moisture-retentive but never soaked. Because adults can exceed 7” DLS, plan for considerably more usable vertical and horizontal space than you would for a smaller Avicularia. Once specimens reach approximately 4” DLS, provide an appropriately sized water dish in addition to occasional light misting. Your existing listing likewise emphasizes an arboreal enclosure, cross ventilation, and vertical cork. 

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Maintain comfortable room temperatures around 70–75°F. As with your other pinktoes, prioritize excellent cross-ventilation over artificially high humidity. Avoid stagnant air and continuously saturated substrate. Light misting approximately once a week can provide drinking droplets while allowing the enclosure to ventilate and partially dry between applications.

 🍽️ Feeding & Water 

Offer appropriately sized crickets or roaches approximately once a week, adjusting according to appetite and abdomen condition. Your current 3.5+” female has been readily taking large crickets weekly, so this species can maintain an excellent feeding response as it grows. Provide a water dish once the animal is large enough, but also lightly mist part of the webbing approximately once a week to create accessible drinking droplets. Remove uneaten prey during premolt.
