Where as, Morphotype #2 (A. metallica “White Hair”) Features a remarkable blue body covered in striking white hairs, giving it a frosted, distinct appearance.

Care & Husbandry Guide

🏠 Enclosure & Substrate

Provide a vertically oriented arboreal enclosure with strong cross-ventilation, upright cork bark, foliage, and plenty of elevated anchor points for web construction. Because your White Hair animals can develop into exceptionally large Pink Toes, give larger specimens substantially more usable arboreal space than you would a smaller Avicularia. A modest substrate layer is sufficient; vertical structure, airflow, and webbing space are the priorities. 

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Maintain comfortable room temperatures around 70–75°F. Prioritize excellent cross-ventilation over artificially high humidity. Light misting can provide accessible drinking droplets, but the enclosure should have enough airflow to prevent stagnant, constantly saturated conditions. A clean water dish should be provided to larger specimens.

 🍽️ Feeding & Water 

Offer appropriately sized crickets or roaches approximately once a week for growing specimens, adjusting according to appetite and abdomen condition. Your smaller animals have demonstrated steady feeding and growth on appropriately sized crickets. Provide a clean water dish once specimens are large enough and lightly mist part of the webbing approximately once a week to create accessible drinking droplets. Avoid soaking the enclosure simply to increase humidity.
