A stunning Black and Pink Tarantula! 

Introducing one of the most visually breathtaking yet criminally underrepresented tarantulas in the entire Tarantula hobby: the Brazilian Flaming Pink-Head, Bumba tapajos. Native to the Tapajós region of Brazil, this rare terrestrial species dazzles with a fiery pink carapace that blazes against a jet-black body—earning its nickname for good reason. As this species matures, the shimmering carapace intensifies into a hot, metallic pink while its velvety legs stay deep, obsidian black. 

General Information 

These Bumba tapajos slings, affectionately known as the Brazilian Flaming Pink-Head, are an exceptional opportunity for any collector looking to own a vibrant, fast-growing, and remarkably docile species. Currently measuring around 0.25” DLS, they are thriving on one small cricket per week. Adults are known for their stunning pink carapace that contrasts sharply with their dark, velvety black body. Unlike most New World terrestrials The Brazilian Flaming Pink Head grows fast, reaching sexual maturity in only two years. They’re also incredibly low maintenance. Give adults a simple terrestrial setup with moderate humidity and proper ventilation while i keep slings in a simple deli cup container with 0.25 of an inch of substrate! And thats all they need to flourish. Additionally, their personality is calm, slow moving and confident, making them very handleable. That said, these slings make the perfect choice for both novice and experienced keepers looking for a rare gem that’s easy to care for and a true showstopper as it matures.

Why this species is so RARE!

Due to Brazil’s strict wildlife exportation ban, no new Bumba tapajos can legally be brought into the country. As a result, they’re borderline impossible to source.
Fortunately, I’ve had the privilege of producing this species right here in the U.S., and I’m proud to offer one of only a few CB batches produced in the USA! That being said If you’re passionate about preserving this beautiful tarantula species this is your chance.

Care & Husbandry Guide

🏠 Enclosure & Substrate

Provide a terrestrial enclosure with several inches of compactable substrate and a cork-bark hide or starter burrow. Smaller slings can initially be raised in appropriately sized deli cups or similar small enclosures before being upgraded as they grow. Adults should receive substantially more floor space than climbing height, with excessive fall distance kept to a minimum.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Maintain comfortable room temperatures around 70–78°F. Provide moderate moisture availability with good ventilation rather than keeping the enclosure constantly saturated. Smaller slings can be maintained with some moisture retained within the substrate, while established juveniles and adults should have a water dish and localized moisture as needed. Avoid stagnant or waterlogged conditions.

 🍽️ Feeding & Water 

Your current slings are feeding successfully on approximately one small cricket per week. As they grow, increase prey size while adjusting frequency according to appetite and abdomen condition. Established juveniles and adults can be offered appropriately sized crickets or roaches approximately once per week. Provide a clean water dish once specimens are large enough and remove uneaten prey during premolt.

Provide a straightforward terrestrial enclosure with compactable substrate, a secure retreat, good ventilation, and reliable access to water.
