The Fringed Ornamental (Poecilotheria ornata)

A Massive Arboreal Beauty!

The Poecilotheria Ornata (Fringed Ornamental)! This MASSIVE old world tarantula is coveted for their stunning coloration, Fast growth rate and gargantuan size! Holding the title for *Second Largest Poecilotheria species* you can expect a female Poecilotheria Ornata to max out at 9 inches DLS! Sporting magnificent yellows, purples and blacks it’s no surprise why this specific species is one of the most sought after in its entire genus! Now out of all the Poecilotheria species, the *P. Ornata* has the most confident personality and aggressive feeding response! Unlike its slightly larger cousin P. Rufilata… The Poecilotheria Ornata is bold, often spending its time out in the open, while the Rufilata is shy and reclusive resulting in a massive tarantula that you practically never get to see! With that being said, the Fringed Ornamental is also the only Poecilotheria species that I’ve never handled nor ever intend on handling as they have a daring demeanor, medically significant venom and won’t hesitate throwing up a defensive posture before darting away! So please only admire this tarantula from the safety of its enclosure! Anyways, these well started slings are 1.5+ inches in DLS and have been munching on 1-2 large crickets a week! Surprisingly, these well started slings will be 5+ inch adults in only 8 to 9 months time since they put on size FAST and literally never refuse a meal… unlike other Poecilotheria species!
