The Madi Gras Pink Toe (Avicularia sp. Madi Gras)
An Extremely Rare Fuzzy Gold Pink Toe
Get ready to meet one of the most dazzling pinktoe species to ever hit the U.S. hobby—the Mardi Gras Pinktoe! Aptly named for its carnival of colors, this stunning arboreal tarantula flaunts brilliant hues of gold, purple, red, and blue, all wrapped up in a fluffy, almost ethereal package. It’s like nature dipped this spider in a Mardi Gras parade! Furthermore, the Mardi Gras Pinktoe is a medium-sized arboreal species, reaching about 5 to 5.5 inches in diagonal leg span (DLS). Despite their manageable size, what really sets this species apart is its sweet temperament—both my adult female and her offspring have proven incredibly tolerant of handling, a trait that’s often rare among small-to-medium Avicularia species, which are usually more jumpy and skittish.
Rare and Exclusive!
Amazingly, this species is brand new to the U.S. market, and as far as I know, I’m proud to be the first to produce a successful egg sac within the state’s! With only a limited clutch of slings available, this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of hobby history. That being said, If you’re looking for a show-stopping centerpiece tarantula that’s as gentle as it is gorgeous, the Mardi Gras Pinktoe is your dream come true. But act fast—I only have a handful of slings available, and once they’re gone, there’s no telling when this rarity will hit the market again!

Madi Gras Pink Toe Care - Keep this species like any other PinkToe. Give them an Arboreal enclosure with plenty of cross ventilation and moist substrate. Make sure you give them in our boreal piece of cork bark that way, if they have something to climb on and with slings/juveniles I like to mist the sides of their enclosure once a week as this will allow them to drink the water droplets that condense on the side!
