The Peruvian Blue Zebra (Thrixopelma lagunas)

A Docile Blue Beauty that’s Long Lived

The Peruvian Blue Zebra, scientifically known as Thrixopelma lagunas is a slow growing New World terrestrial tarantula that’s adorned for there Velvety Royal Blue’s and copper striped knees! Unlike most bright blue Thrixopelma species, The Blue Zebra grows to an impressive 6.5+ inches making it one of the largest tarantulas in its genus! Additionally, the Peruvian Blue Zebra has an extremely calm and docile demeanor making it the perfect choice for both beginners and expert keepers! As juveniles, this species sports vibrant blue, yellows and oranges! Once they reach 4.5 inches in DLS she’ll obtain those one of a kind deep and rich metallic blues, guaranteed to knock your socks off! Just like any other Thrixopelma species the Peruvian Blue Zebra is easy to care for! Just keep them room temperature, and make sure you give her dry substrate plus a water dish! If you can do that… congratulations your mesmerizing blue tarantula will thrive in captivity! Anyways, the exact female for sale is currently 3 inches in Leg-Span and I’ve been raising her up for just over two years now! Last but not least, she has been taking down one large cricket a week!

Thrixopelma Lagunas Care - Keep this hardy species like you would keep a Chaco Golden knee. Around 1 to 2 inches of Coconut fiber substrate will work perfect as the Peruvian Blue Zebra does not burrow! Additionally, this species prefers a dry substrate. So I recommend you give Thrixopelma lagunas a water dish that you slightly overfill every once in a while! And that’s it this amazing tarantula’s care is truly that simple! Additionally, this is a result of the Peruvian, blue zebra’s natural environment, having huge variations in climate year round, with hot and dry summers and very cool and wet rainy seasons. Amazingly, this unique geography & intense climate pressures has hand crafted one of the most forgiving, yet beautiful, beginner tarantula, species!
