Phormictopus sp. Full Green (Goliath Green Bird Eater)
A Massive Emerald Green Masterpiece
The Phormictopus sp. Full Green is an exceptional giant tarantula guaranteed to captivate any collector with its impressive size and vibrant emerald green coloration. Green is one of the rarest colors found in tarantulas, and this species embodies it to perfection, reaching a massive 8+ inches in diagonal leg span. This tarantula is a true showstopper—a masterpiece of nature that looks as if it were crafted by the divine.
Why Choose Phormictopus sp. Full Green?
This species is among the select few tarantulas with rich green tones, making it an unparalleled standout in any collection. Given the chaotic taxonomy of the Phormictopus genus, it’s incredibly rare to find true Phormictopus sp. Full Green. Many hobbyists who purchase spiders labeled as “green” often discover they’re not green at all or only partially green. Rest assured, these specimens are authentic, as they were produced in-house just over a year ago. What you’re getting is the real deal, with guaranteed vibrant green coloration as the tarantula matures.
About This Female
This specific female is 2.5+ inches in diagonal leg span, 13 months old, and thriving on a diet of one large cricket per week. She has a ferocious appetite and is a joy to feed, displaying bold behavior and remarkable speed when capturing prey
Experience Level - Beginner
Personality - It’s really hit or miss… sometimes your P. Sp Full Green will be as chill as a Brazilian black and super tolerant of handling! Or you’ll get a very shy and defensive specimen that, if you so much as breathe on it… it’ll instantly throw up a defensive posture. So it’s truly up to chance! Either really chill, or really defensive!
Adult size - 8+ inches DLS
Current size - 2.5 inches DLS
Age - 13 months old
Care - This is a non-burrowing species, so a terrestrial enclosure with 1-2 inches of substrate is recommended! Amazingly this species is very tolerant of both dry and humid conditions so I recommend using a gradient method, where half the enclosure is more humid. While the other half is dry and on the humid side, provide the spider with a water dish. If you do that emerald green tarantula will thrive!
