Care & Husbandry Guide

🏠 Enclosure & Substrate

Use a terrestrial enclosure that prioritizes usable floor space with approximately 2–3+ inches of substrate. Add a cork-bark hide and some leaf litter or natural cover, but don’t overcrowd the enclosure—this species likes to explore, so leave plenty of open surface area for it to move around. Keep climbing height low for safety.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Keep approximately 72–78°F with moderate moisture and good airflow. Allow much of the surface to dry while maintaining some moisture deeper in the substrate. A clean water dish should always be available for established specimens. Avoid keeping the enclosure constantly damp or stagnant.

 🍽️ Feeding & Water 

These have a strong appetite despite their small size. Juveniles can receive appropriately sized prey 1–2 times per week, while established adults can generally be fed around once weekly depending on body condition. Crickets and small roaches work extremely well. Always remove uneaten prey when the spider enters premolt.

The Colombian Tricolor is a small, active terrestrial that spends a surprising amount of time exploring its enclosure. Unlike some dwarf species that disappear into web tunnels or burrows, these are enjoyable because they’re frequently out and moving around.
