The Midnight Black Bird-Eater (Sericopelma sp. darian)

A Velvety Black Beauty

Sericolpelma sp. Darian, The ultimate jet-black behemoth with an unparalleled temperament. The Midnight Black Bird-Eater (Sericopelma darian) Native to the mysterious and nearly impenetrable Darién Gap, lives a colossal tarantula that’s as rare as it is breathtaking. With its deep, velvety black setae and massive 8–9 inch leg span, this species is a true powerhouse of the tarantula world. But unlike many other giants, the Midnight Black Bird-Eater pairs its impressive size with a remarkably docile and tolerant nature, making it one of the best “Bird-Eaters” for handling.

A Mat Black Powerhouse!

Sericolpelma sp. Darian’s deep and dark black coloration may remind some of the legendary Grammostola pulchra. However, this species takes it a step further, boasting an even richer, darker black that absorbs light like a void. Its overall appearance is eerily reminiscent of Pamphobeteus species, but don’t be fooled—this tarantula is genetically more aligned with Aphonopelma, which explains its relaxed and steady demeanor. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who has dreamed of owning a massive black tarantula with the gentle, pet-rock personality of a G. pulchra, but on an even more impressive scale. This species thrives in a terrestrial enclosure, often seen out in the open, confidently waiting for prey to pounce on like a true apex predator! Whether you’re looking for a jaw-dropping display specimen or a true gentle giant to handle, the Midnight Black Bird-Eater delivers on every front. Given its rarity and breathtaking presence, this is one species that serious collectors won’t want to miss out on. Secure yours today and own one of the most stunning black tarantulas the hobby has ever seen!
