Sericolpelma sp. Santa Catalina (Velvety Orange Bird Eater)

A Giant Orange Tarantula that’s Unbelievably Gorgeous!

The Velvety Orange Bird Eater (Sericopelma sp. Santa Catalina) is an exceptional tarantula, combining stunning velvety black and orange coloration, impressive size, and a docile temperament. Unlike other large New World tarantulas often known for their defensiveness, this species is calm, handleable, and non-aggressive, making it a perfect choice for those looking to interact with their tarantula. This massive bird-eater grows to an impressive 8–9+ inches in leg span and becomes even more vibrant with age. By the time it reaches 6 inches, its legs will be fully adorned with deep, velvety blood orange hues. This species is easy to care for, requiring a terrestrial setup with moderate humidity and proper ventilation. Provide a water dish and some substrate for burrowing, and this gentle giant will thrive. Don’t miss the chance to own this rare and underrated tarantula. With its breathtaking appearance, manageable temperament, and massive size, the Sericopelma sp. Santa Catalina is sure to impress even the most seasoned tarantula enthusiasts.
