The Brazilian Jewel Tarantula

The Most Stunning Tarantula in the Hobby!

The Typhochlaena seladonia, commonly known as the Brazilian Jewel tarantula, is widely regarded as the most breathtaking tarantula in the hobby. With its dazzling, jewel-like coloration, this New World trapdoor tarantula is a true masterpiece of nature. Beyond its beauty, the Brazilian jewel tarantula is surprisingly easy to care for, making it a must-have for hobbyists of all experience levels.

🚨Important Information!🚨

Most Brazilian Jewels hit the market the moment they crawl out the egg sac, often shipped before ever taking down a meal, let alone making its trapdoor. This leaves buyers with fragile, high-risk slings that struggle to survive, and has given the T. seledonia a reputation of being extremely fragile. However, that is not the case here. This juvenile is over 7 months old, 0.75+ inches in size, and has molted a minimum of 5 times, proving itself strong and healthy! In other words, I’ve already taken on the risk so you don’t have to. You see, after raising up these individuals for over seven months, every weaker sibling with poor genetics has been naturally filtered out, leaving you with only the healthiest and most established Brazilian Jewels on the market. To further ensure your tarantula’s success, you will receive a pre-made enclosure with ideal substrate, an already made trap door and additional larger holes in a piece of cork bark, so your Brazilian Jewel can build a new trapdoor once it grows larger! This free professional enclosure eliminates the hardest part of keeping this fascinating species—your only task is to move her into the enclosure and enjoy!

Care recommendations

The Brazilian Jewel (Typhochlaena seladonia) prefers a dry environment, with light misting on the sides of the enclosure once a week. This will provide hydration to your spider. If you decide to move your Brazilian jewel out of the professional enclosure I provided you… make sure the new enclosure has plenty of cross ventilation to prevent swampy/ stagnant air. The substrate drying out before re-spraying is a sign of adequate ventilation! Additionally your female will create a trapdoor using sphagnum moss and cork bark flakes! I will include both of these with your order. Please make sure the surface layer of her substrate consists of these two materials! With that being said if you follow these simple steps your beautiful Brazilian Jewel will thrive in your care! Furthermore, don’t settle for a fragile hatchling. Secure this well-started juvenile Brazilian Jewel today and add one of the rarest, most dazzling species in existence to your collection — with the confidence that it’s already beyond the vulnerable stage and ready to thrive in your care.
